In an action for podiatric malpractice and lack of informed consent, it was alleged that Gallardo Levin Reiter & Rogers‘ client, a podiatrist, was negligent in indicating and performing bunionectomy and hammertoe procedures and was negligent in the post-procedure care. Specifically, it was alleged that the bunionectomy and hammertoe procedures left her with structural deformities which impaired her foot function and required further surgery, neurological and physical therapy care and that she also suffered a burn from application of a topical spray during the post-procedure care. Gallardo Levin Reiter & Rogers made a motion for summary judgment demonstrating the podiatrist’s compliance with the standards of care in treating the plaintiff and the Court dismissed all claims and cross-claims against our podiatrist. The case was handled by Gallardo Levin Reiter & Rogers Partner Michele R. Levin and Associate Jeff Bondoc.
