In an action for medical malpractice and wrongful death, it was alleged that Gallardo Levin Reiter & Rogers‘ client was negligent in failing to timely diagnosis and appropriately manage osteomyelitis infection which developed in the decedent’s foot. It was alleged that the osteomyelitis was allowed to progress resulting in the need for aggressive debridement, amputation, and antibiotic therapy with nephrotoxic side effects. The decedent subsequently went into renal failure followed by multi-organ failure and died at the age of 49. Gallardo Levin Reiter & Rogers successfully demonstrated that our doctor timely and appropriately managed the decedent’s osteomyelitis, and that the decedent’s renal failure and death were unrelated to our doctor’s care.
